About Us
We have always loved large dogs and we got our first dog in 2003, she was a beautiful blue Great Dane and we called her Barky. She was with us for almost 10 years and saw us through marriage, 2 houses and the birth of our 3 children. Shortly after she died we moved to Surrey to our current house which had over 3 acres of garden and woodland. We were desperate to get another dog and after lots of research we had our heart set on a German Shorthaired Pointer. As a very active family we were confident that we could give a GSP the exercise and stimulation it needed and we were keen to share our large garden with a canine companion who would appreciate it. We were delighted to find that a local family were about to welcome the arrival of a litter of GSPs, we thought it must have been fate, as the day I looked online was the day that they had listed their advert. We were first on their waiting list and so we got to choose our first GSP, Leonard, at just 4 days old. Watching Leonard grow up and training him was a joy. He was full of energy, very intelligent, sometimes a little bit naughty and always incredibly affectionate. When he joined us our children were 2, 5 and 7 years old and he was very gentle and loving towards them. It wasn't long before we were completely in love with the breed and we decided to get another one! Daphne joined us 2 years after Leonard in 2016 . Just like Leonard it was very clear to see that she was a very intelligent girl and she seemed to have even more energy than Leonard. So far they have had a wonderful life running around our garden and exploring the many fantastic walks in this area. I took up long distance walking in 2018 and and Leonard and Daphne have happily joined me on many treks. We have considered breeding from Daphne for several years, we were all set to go for it in 2020 but lockdown stopped us in our tracks. We were slightly nervous this year as we were still slowly coming out of lockdown but then fate stepped in again and we found out that Leonard's brother, Aloysius, was available as a stud dog. The opportunity to have a litter which would continue the lines of both of our fantastic dogs was too good to pass up.
Daphne’s puppies are due at the beginning of July and will be ready to go to their new homes at the end of August. They will spend their first 8 weeks in our family home where they will experience lots of love, they will spend lots of time with our 3 children and many other children. They will also have the opportunity to meet plenty of wildlife including our own chickens, ducks and the cattle in the field next to us. They will have been wormed from 2 weeks old, will have had a health check from our vet, their first vaccinations at 8 weeks and they will be microchipped.
