Daphne - The Dam
Daphne has been our wonderful family dog for 5 years. She is bursting with energy and if she had her way she would spend her entire day running around our garden and woodlands. She is tall for a female GSP standing 24” at the shoulder and she has very soft fur and extremely long ears. Her liver and white tick colour is sharp and striking and on her left side she has 2 solid liver patches. We get many comments from strangers when we are out and about remarking on how beautiful she is.
She is incredibly affectionate to us, to our children, to our friends and to our other GSP Leonard. Although he is older she clearly loves to look after him and will often clean his face and ears before curling up with him in front of the fire. She loves cuddles and even if there is only a postage stamp sized space left on the sofa she will be certain she can fit into it. When our youngest daughter was just 5 years old she would climb into the dog bed with Leonard and Daphne and fall asleep (see gallery). Both dogs were incredibly accommodating and gentle with her.
As well as being well socialized with people, children and dogs she has become friends with our ducks, chickens and tortoise.
Daphne is Kennel Club registered. She has had a health check, has had her eyes checked and no breed related adnexal or ocular conditions were detected and she has a hip score of 5/5.
Daphne and Aloysius have a fantastic inbreeding coefficient of 2.4%. Their puppies arrived on Sunday 27th June and from the moment the first one was born we could see that Daphne was going to be a fantastic mother. Since then she has been very caring and attentive. She hates to be away from the puppies to eat, exercise and go to the toilet and always races back. She is patient and careful with them and is constantly cleaning them. Visit our puppies page to find out more about them.
